This album captures Deep Purple during their Japan concerts and full of classic hard rock moments. **“Highway Star,” “Smoke on the Water,”** and **“Child in Time”** are all iconic If you do not own any Deep Purple album yet, *Made in Japan* is probably one of the best places to start.

Give It Up to Love was originally released on AudioQuest, but the copy I own is the Analogue Productions 45RPM 2-disc pressing. Honestly, it might even better than the first pressing. The sound quality is seriously impressive. If you want to test how your system handles vocals, this record is a great one to put on.

The big highlight for me is “Autumn Leaves.” So many musicians have played this standard before, but Cannonball Adderley’s version feels especially elegan.
